Whale Spotting

It was a beautiful day yesterday, so we decided to meet up with some friends at Cabrillo Monument and search for grey whales at their annual whale event. Here's Mike at the entrance with Chloe.

After wandering about the different booths we walked over to the water and watched this ship leave the harbor.

This is a rather good shot of Cabrillo Monument.

With all the kids.

"So, let's head up to the lighthouse!"

Stopping to study the scale model of the lighthouse ahead.

Finally here.

Inside.

Here we are outside, trying to spot a whale.

There are thousands of migrating grey whales in this picture. Can you see them? We didn't either. Next time we'll use a boat!

From here we headed down to the water to study tidepools.

The clouds started to look threatening.

The girls found some interesting seaweed.

Here's a tidepool.

This one has anemones!

Time to head back.

Another beautiful day on the ocean.
