Tiny turtles

Yesterday, while we were visiting a friend in upstate New York, we walked near his driveway and encountered a most unusual sight....

Tiny turtles….

 ...Everywhere.

 They were adorable.

So we scooped them into a box and carried them off the driveway to his little pond in the side yard… saving them them perilous journey.

Of course there were more and more everywhere we looked around the yard.

We found the nest. One egg still hadn't hatched.

In all we saved carried 23 baby snapping turtles to his pond, making it the most dangerous pond in all the land!
